    How to Sync Airbnb and Booking.com Calendars for Cyprus Holiday Rentals

    The short answer

    Connect Airbnb and Booking.com by exporting each property's calendar link and importing it into the matching property on the other platform. A two-way setup requires both directions. iCal sync reduces double-booking risk, but it is not real-time and does not guarantee prevention.

    Use a desktop browser and complete the setup separately for every property, room or unit. Before copying any link, confirm that the Airbnb listing and Booking.com unit describe the same accommodation.

    1. Export Airbnb and import it into Booking.com

    1. In Airbnb, select Calendar and choose the listing calendar you want to connect.
    2. Select Availability. Under Connect calendars, select Connect to another website.
    3. Copy the Airbnb calendar link. Keep it private: it provides access to calendar availability.
    4. Sign in to the Booking.com extranet and select Rates & Availability, then Sync calendars.
    5. Find the matching room or unit, select Add calendar connection, and paste the Airbnb link.
    6. Name the connection, such as “Airbnb — Apartment 1”, select Next step, then complete the import.

    2. Export Booking.com and import it into Airbnb

    1. Continue through the Booking.com connection setup. If you are only exporting at this point, use Skip to export.
    2. Select Copy link for the correct room or unit's Booking.com calendar.
    3. Return to Airbnb: Calendar → select the matching listing → Availability → Connect calendars → Connect to another website.
    4. Paste the Booking.com link into the calendar address field, give it a clear name, and select Add calendar.
    5. Repeat both directions for every property or unit. Never reuse one property's link for another.
    6. Check both connection lists and verify that known blocked dates appear on the correct listing.

    Refresh schedules and manual refresh

    Airbnb's official guide says its imported calendars update automatically every three hours. You can open the connected calendar and select Refresh Calendar to request a newer update, but Airbnb limits how often it can request updates from another website. Do not repeatedly refresh.

    Booking.com's official guide says connected calendars update every two hours. Its connection page also lets you refresh an imported connection manually. A manual request still depends on the source platform and does not make iCal real-time.

    Booking.com eligibility

    Booking.com states that calendar sync is not enabled for every property. If Rates & Availability → Sync calendars is missing, do not assume the account supports it.     Troubleshooting

    • Wrong listing: remove the connection and reconnect the two matching properties. Compare property names and known blocked dates before relying on it.
    • One-way setup: confirm that Airbnb imports Booking.com and Booking.com imports Airbnb. One exported link covers only one direction.
    • Incorrect link: recopy the calendar export link from the source. Airbnb says imported links must end in .ics; Booking.com says its own links contain /ical/.
    • Delayed refresh: wait for the documented refresh window, then use one manual refresh if available. Repeated requests cannot remove platform limits.
    • Blocked dates behave unexpectedly: check the source calendar, connection status and whether the date is booked or manually closed. Verify on both platforms before reopening dates.
    • Sync calendars is unavailable: check Booking.com eligibility and ask its support team. Do not paste calendar links into unrelated settings.

    iCal sync is not a channel manager

    iCal is for availability and date blocks. Do not rely on it to transfer prices, messages, payments, guest details, policies or full reservation operations. A channel manager is a broader product and may manage rates, inventory and reservations through supported platform connections.
